When Earle Alexander's wife came across an advertisement for this home, Alexander commented that it was too far as nothing was past old Camp Hudson. The camp, located where Hudson Oaks stands today, was once an old boy scout camp on the outskirts ot town. The Alexander family was the second family to move into Memorial Bend.
